Baltimore Comic-Con Report: GAH!

Just a few things I saw at the incredible Baltimore Comic Con:
- A HUGE crowd of comic book fans... this one had to be the most well-attended yet!
- Jerry Robinson, creator of the Joker!
- John Romita signing autographs right across the aisle from our booth!
- John Romita, Jr. signing autographs right across the aisle from our booth too! (Truly: Like father, like son.)
- Mike Oeming, Mike Hawthorne, Andy MacDonald and Ivan Brandon at the F.O.O. (Friends Of Oeming) Booth!
- AMAZING FANTASY #15! (If you have to ask, you can't afford it. I didn't ask.)
- A three dollar pretzel! (It was actually pretty good. Not $3.00 good, but still.)
- Two guys dressed up as Supergirl and Wonder Woman! Wha-HUH?
- A really cool girl dressed up as Storm, with the weird eyes and everything!
- A flu-recovering Chris Moreno! Get well soon.
- At least twelve people wearing COMIX CONNECTION T-Shirts! (You all got your dollar from me for wearing them, right? And the rest of you know we're taking orders for the next batch, right?)
- Jimmy Gownley (AMELIA RULES!) and Andy Runton (OWLY), proving that comics for kids (and adults) can actually sell! And sell and sell!
- An assortment of moustaches! Never mind.
- Gene Carpenter, who always has the most incredible comics!
- Manager Ken NOT bringing watermelon or spaghetti to eat over the comics... Thanks, Ken!
- The worst comic of the show! (My X-MEN #9 that is covered with MOLD!)
- Michael Turner and his legions of fans!
- A "fire drill" two hours into the show that cleared the entire convention center! Rotten leaky sprinkler-head! (*shakes fist*)
- George Perez and other artists signing fans' stuff on the sidewalk bcause of the fire drill!
- The unflappable Marc Nathan! (And every year it seems he has a perfectly good reason to be -uh- flappable.)
- David Lloyd doing head-sketches of V from V FOR VENDETTA for every fan, including this one!
- Erin and Becky, future booth gals!
- Cool 'Toon Tumblers! Keep your eyes peeled for these awesome drinking glasses!
- Chris Pitzer (AdHouse Books) and Chris Staros (Top Shelf), two publishers who seem to know what they're doing! And are doing it very well and successfully.
- Crabcake sandwiches from Phillip's Crab House!
- A parking space that cost $27.00 a day! (that's nearly $10,000 a year!)
- Lots and lots and lots and losts of old comic books. I kid you not. Lots.

What? Nothing about the DZOF shirt?
Dang.
The freaking creator of the joker? you're kidding me and i didn't ask for autograph? color me stupid! this hulk is soooo angry! and this hulk hates mustaches!!!! seriously i'm not big on the mustache...
No jerry robinson on the guest list...but you know that one of your counter monkeys is a huge joker fan so i'm sure you got me hooked up right? right? a sketch? the possibility my god the possibility...well maybe next year?!?!?!?!
This year was the first time I attended the BCC, and I thought it was very well organized. There was one incident that involved some ornery staff near the back of the John Cassaday line, but I won't go into details, since I eventually got my book signed after one of the staff gave me grief...I met Brandon Peterson, and he showed me some secret artwork from the upcoming Ultimate Vision series...I met Olivier Coipel, and he even took a break from the sketch he was doing and posed for a photo...I met Dennis Calero, who was a very nice guy, and I got a few of his art prints from X-Factor #9...I met C.B. Cebulski, who signed two of his Marvel Unlimited books...I met Dan Slott, who was a really nice and funny guy, and I saw some upcoming covers for She-Hulk #14 and 15...and finally, I met Andy Runton, who does Owly, my mom's favorite comic. (It's very good, I recommend it.) I also picked up two variant covers I was looking for, a few I wasn't looking for, and lots of other stuff. Didn't get to meet Joe Quesada, but there's always next year.
It was also great seeing Bill and Ken, at the Comix Connection booth, and getting my special dollar. Even though I was only there for three hours, it was a great experience. I'll definitely be going back next year.
This was one of the best Baltimore Cons. As usual I got to talk to George Perez, but this time I also got to talk with one of my all time favorite writers, Marv Wolfman. The DC Nation Panel was one the most fun panels I've ever attended, as was the Titans Together panel. Joe Quesada was very personable in his panel, but had nothing on the DC panels. I made some good purchases, and had some stuff signed, and received my dollar from Bill and Ken. What a great day.
It was great to see you guys with your shirts at the Con representing Comix Connection!
WEST YORK! WEST SHORE! THE WEST IS THE BEST!

Jeepers, I just made a Doors reference...
The Doors: The only rock band with a lead singer that sounds like a lounge singer.
Jeez, I am different...I don't think I know a kid who knows who the doors are.
What does this have to do with the Baltimore Comic-Con?
