The issue of SUPERMAN'S PAL JIMMY OLSEN wherein Superman crushes Jimmy's head like a fat grape

Check this knee-slapper out:

SUPERMAN'S PAL JIMMY OLSEN #121 (DC Comics, July 1969), from the story "Jimmy Olsen's DEATH-TRICK!"

JIMMY: "SUPERMAN...I'm DYING! PLEASE TELL ME YOUR SECRET IDENTITY!"

SUPES: (thinking) IT'S HIS LAST REQUEST! I CAN'T REFUSE!

"SURE, JIMMY! I AM -- CLARK KENT!"

JIMMY: (thinking) MY HOAX WORKED! I'VE LEARNED HIS GREATEST SECRET!

HAW HAW HAW! I WAS FAKING YOU BIG DOOFUS!

SUPES: "..."

*SQUISH*

Don't tug on Superman's cape if you know what's good for you.

I think 'Superman's Pal Jimmy olsen' has the greatest covers of the silver age. You can pick them at random, and each one is awesome. here's on of my favorites:
Superman is the worst adoptive father ever.

Um, does anyone else think that's kinda wierd? I mean, did Superman know he was faking, or what?

From the few issues I have, the Supes presented in Jimmy's book wasn't always the super-scientist he was in his own book. Plus, the cover situation rarely seems to actually happpen inside the book.

g-evan - I can't even begin to describe the plot in this one... it would LITERALLY take me longer to explain it than it took for me to read it!

nick - I just might have a copy of that one floating around... MegoSteve and I were just talking about that particular issue...

Bill-That's fine, but can you tell me: How'd they get away with head-squishing in a code-approved book??

Uhhhhh... that part was a joke. It's what Supes should have done.

Yep. If I were superman, I sure wouldn't stand for my 'pal' causing trouble every month. BTW, going through these covers, I think Jimmy has had superpowers and lost them more often than anyone else in comics.
