R.I.P. Martin Nodell

This is sad news. Marty Nodell was always a fixture at the Baltimore ComicCon... he was one of the friendliest creators I have ever met, just an all-around Nice Guy. Who was Martin Nodell? Well, he created the Green Lantern among other characters way back in the 1940s Golden Age. HERE'S a decent obituary on CNN. HERE'S his Wikipedia entry. He left quite a legacy, and he will be sorely missed.
R.I.P.
(A tip of the hat to all of you who sent me this news.)

That is sad... I met Mr. Nodell and, his biggest fan, his wife in 1992 in Atlantic City at a comic convention. He was a dear old man with a real passion for what he created. We spoke for a good half an hour on classic comics and movies ( We both love Laurel and Hardy ). The coolest thing about him was he had this old leather art portfolio filled(I mean FILLED!) with his original art. I had him draw me a picture of Green Lantern (FOR FREE!),but for some lucky ones, who asked,he gave them an original sketch!
Super,Super nice guy!
It was definitely cool and an honor to have had the chance to meet him for me as well. Rest in Peace.
