From the vault - 20th Anniversary Edition Part 15
This is one of Comix Connection's finest moments. Look at that issue of the Comix Connection Bulletin #3... see the announcement for York-Con VI in March of 1991?

Check out the guest we managed to get: GEORGE EVANS, one of the legendary EC artists! From what I remember, George was the great uncle of local artist and customer Roger Peterson. Somehow that fact came up in conversation and we asked Roger if George would be interested in making an appearance at our show. He did, and the rest is history! (Stay tuned for a post about the "EC Day" we held at the Camp Hill Mall store with George and Johnny Craig!) George Evans was one of the nicest guys I have ever met, and was very gracious to fans and seemed surprised by the attention.
Here's George signing my friend Charlie's copy of the ACES HIGH EC hardcover:

Here's George autographing my SECRET AGENT CORRIGAN strip from 2/25/81:

That strip is hanging up here right by my desk... and I know that somewhere around here I have a sketch of my favorite First World War airplane, a SPAD13. Sadly George passed away in 2001. His talent is sorely missed.

That is SWEET!! That SPAD must be awesome!!
That is a great SPAD drawing by George Evans!
Just two side (or is that snide) comments... How about those awsome graphics on that flier?
And, it's funny how I mysteriously had to work in the store on all these York-Cons instead of getting to go and smooze the special guests...
Flier graphics? Why that was the awesome wizardry of my fabulous Commodore-64! Stare of the art!
OK Timmy, you can go to the next York Con, and I'll do whatever it is you do at the store...
Hee hee hee...
Holy cow, it's Tim Smith! I really need to read the comments here more often.
