COMIX CONNECTION - YORK IS MOVING UPDATE #2

Hey everyone! If everything goes well, the YORK STORE should be moved by MONDAY, MARCH 8th.

Comix Connection - York will probably be closed on SUNDAY MARCH 7th to do the actual moving!

Please bear with us during the move. We will try to provide our usual impeccable service, but we may be a tad preoccupied. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience. (Of course, this is barring any unforeseen things popping up. Fingers crossed!)

WE ARE MOVING THE YORK STORE WITHIN THE WEST MANCHESTER MALL! WE WILL BE LOCATED UP AT THE THEATER END BETWEEN BON-TON AND GAMESTOP!

(Comix Connection - Mechanicsburg isn't going anywhere. Just so you know.)

Computer Virus Removal Attempt Day 2

= A Waste of Precious Life Force

Luckily SuperNed appeared and whisked the problem PC away before I had a chance to do this:

Ned did promise me that if he couldn't get rid of the pesky malware on the Mechanicsburg computer that I can take my 9-iron to it, so I have that to look forward to. Fingers crossed one way or another.

(Oh, and which Circle of Hell are hackers consigned to?)

Access Problems

Hey, a few of you have probably noticed that I haven't posted much the last couplefew days... I've been drowning in the monthly comic orders, then had sporadic internet access problems the last three days. There is nothing more disheartening than creating a post and then having it lost to the ether. (Oh and then I visited friends and drove golf balls, ate hardshell crabs and drank beer all day on Monday, so that day was shot.) Anyway, Mechanicsburg Manager Joe Hare picked up the ball for the weekend, so thanks for that, Joe! I'll try to get the posting back to the regular daily grind from here on out. By the way, thanks for checking in everybody! I really appreciate it!

I love the internet

This has absolutely nothing to do with anything, but I thought I'd share.

I have a 2000 Ford Windstar van (*sigh* - gone are the Old Cadillac Days) that is a pretty tough and reliable workhorse... it suits my needs for hauling the comics once a week from the UPS hub and commuting to the stores, plus it's nice and comfortable enough for The Four Wahls to take on vacation down to Florida every year. Well anyway, last fall the front heat and defroster stopped working at the same time a strange muffled thumping noise started emanating from the dashboard. It got pretty interesting during that big stupid blizzard in February when I closed the Mechanicsburg store at 5PM and began what ended up being a 3 hour trek home to York. No defroster or front heat means your breath immediately condenses on the windshield. Not good. I considered running a dryer vent hose from the rear heat (which worked fine), but never got around to it.

Winter turned to Spring, Spring to Summer, and Summer to Fall... and I remembered my heat didn't work. One night a couple of weeks ago I aimlessly typed into Google's search engine "ford windstar heater thump" ...and there it was! Multiple threads about taking your Windstar to the shop for a $6-$800 repair OR spending $34.00 and REPLACING THE BROKEN BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR by yourself. Well, armed with info and part numbers plus step-by-step instructions, I ordered the part (plus a radio-removal tool for $5.00), got them last week and
I FIXED MY DEFROSTER/HEATER ALL BY MYSELF.

Sure my knuckles are busted up and I have a cramp in my chest muscles(!) from contorting my bloated torso around the center console, but hey, all that will heal.

This winter, I'm running that heat full-blast with the windows down!

Because I can.

The internet is a wondrous thing.
